Oversized Wall Clocks

If you're lucky enough to own a big house that has a large area of un-used wall space, or maybe you work in a large open office that at present doesn't utilise the wall space to its full potential, why not consider improving some of this blank space with an oversized wall clock?

As the name suggests these large clocks are much bigger than normal, and will quickly established themselves as the main focal point in any room. If you're careful to choose one that goes with the room’s decoration and is suitably elegant it will help to make your room or office feel used, loved and lived in.

As with ordinarily sized clocks the make, style, colour and brands available are numerous.  Simply make sure that the clock will fit nicely with any existing furniture, shelves, tables, chairs etc

A lot of these oversized clocks come in the more traditional old-fashioned look, some will have Roman numerals, and these are great if your office or living space has old fashioned styled furniture, predominantly wood.

More modern designs are available; these sometimes have no numerals at all, if your room is modern, clean and minimalist this would be the type to choose.

You get what you pay for with oversized wall clocks, so don't be tempted by cheaper alternatives that don't really blend in with your office or living space.  Do shop around of course and see what is available on the Internet. But be prepared to pay more than you would for a conventionally sized clock.

One area that is usually overlooked or simply not thought of when considering an oversized clock is the outside living area, maybe this is because people spend most of their day inside the house.

It is conceivable however to enhance your outside living area, your decking or patio for example with a tasteful oversized wall clock.  It can be the case that a large outside area would really benefit from a centrepiece, an item that draws attention and a big wall clock can certainly fit the bill.

A big clock will add individuality and atmosphere, it will enrich and improve large open blank wall spaces, and it can successfully become the single artistic addition to the wall and become a real talking point.

If your outside garden area doesn't really have a theme at the moment it would be a good idea to choose your clock first and develop the look from there. Some of the large wall clocks have an old-fashioned style, made from wrought iron or wood, starting you'll design with one of these clocks would be a great way to increase the atmosphere in your outdoor living area.

An oversized clock will certainly become the talking point of your garden, a beautiful piece that is both attractive and useful.
